Even though the action happens before Insane Asylum I, it was painted quite a long time after the first one and I suppose I could go back in time a few more paintings until the very beginning of this nightmare, which I imagine could very well have started like a Twilight Zone episode: "Like every morning, Mr. Smith walks down the empty street to get to his job..."
